[He doesn't mind at all. Ardyn's a bit sorry he couldn't actually end up helping.
But-]
A vampire? Do you have memories to support that?
no subject
[ So some people have suspected. ]
no subject
[Well, he can see why many would draw that conclusion.]
I see why the imagery might lead to the conclusion of "vampire". But I suppose, in your case, it's still too early to tell. I wouldn't make any assumptions just yet.
no subject
[ But she nods, she's a little bit worried about accepting it just like that and all. ]
no subject
Maybe you simply possessed the ability to control bats. You don't remember anything having to do with blood, do you? You know, vampires and all.
no subject
[ . . . Man that's a creepy though, to remember eating blood eventually. ]
no subject
[Ah, but he nearly shrugs.]
Unless, of course, you'd prefer to indulge in the fantasy. But Retrospec might chose to shatter that illusion instead of confirm it, so no point in getting one's hopes up.
no subject
[ Huff. That said... she... mmm. ]
Yeah, there's no point in getting stuck on any one theory though, I agree. [ She tilts her head ] What about you, if you've got the mutant-magic? What've you been remembering, Professor?
no subject
It's not mutant- magic, or at least... I think it's just regular magic.
[Whatever passes for regular magic these days. What was even mutant-magic? He supposes it's all semantics in the end.]
I've remembered several things, but the most poignant was that I was a traveling healer. [He holds his hand up, wiggling a few fingers.]
no subject
So you were a priest in a previous life?
no subject
I don't know if I was a priest, actually. Maybe. In another memory, I was going on to someone about the gods. Perhaps I was something of a religious man.
Is that amusing to you?
no subject
Huh, the gods. ]
It's just odd to imagine a world with wandering healers, I suppose. It's like if the Inquisition was still operating and going around, some old world affair with might and magic.
no subject
[He shrugs.]
Strange, though, how I think very little of it now. As odd as it might sound, to know of magic and monsters and daemons having existed, the memories come with some form of acceptance. Of simply... knowing that they must have been real, and not some delusion descending upon us all.
That's how I see it, in any case.
no subject
[ she exhales, and she shakes her head ]
You've been on the app a little longer than me, I'm sure. Maybe I'll think more like that in a month or two. [ . . ] Mind if I ask you one more little thing though?
no subject
Of course. What is it?
no subject
no subject
I remember... that there were people that I healed as I traveled, but I do not remember their specific faces. And then there is one more specific face that I do recall -- a young man who lives here in the city, actually.
no subject
no subject
With the young man I mentioned, I think we've decided that we have. [Assuming all of this isn't one mass hallucination, but he's starting to doubt it now.] We even share the exact same memory, as we've come to realize just a few days ago.
no subject
... Nevermind, I'll come to my own conclusions as it happens more, I shouldn't make you decide things like that.
no subject
[A shrug of his shoulders, exaggerated.] The real anwer is, I don't know. Some say our memories are a different "us", merely residing in an alternate universe. Some of us think these are past lives, with memories of such playing in our heads.
no subject
[ Rude. ]
no subject
[He certainly doesn't pretend to know the answer to that.]
Most frustrating, isn't it?
no subject
[ She sighs. ]
... Well, regardless, I'm thankful for your attempt to help.
[ Let's get up to go. ]
