whats the basic form of an ode

Oh, there's more than one type, all reliant on rhyming schemes and stanzas, but why must we adhere to tradition? As long as it gets the point across, I think we'll be fine. The opening line, regardless, should start with "O Janet". Because it sounds better that way.

O Janet, thou art the the zephyr pressing upon Retrospec's sails,

Etc., etc. Ten lines, or thirteen?

even when no one can remember the color
that's pretty great
i bet jim stares into your eyes longingly
but you deserve better than a guy so willing to spark so much hate
unless you like jim

but maybe give blue back anyway

Perfect, the very example of a masterwork. I particularly like the lines that reference to their on and off again romance.
