[Calling him out on it! But-] If there is another me out there, going around healing people from a mysterious disease, then I'd like to meet him. He leads a far more interesting life than I do, and I have too many questions that need answered.

[prompto has the dignity of looking slightly ashamed at the accusation of playing too many videos games, a quiet eheh... and a look to the side, (because it's true; he somehow finds the time for this superfluous addiction)]

[but he takes it in stride, because ardyn is going along with his theory even though it isn't much of one]

[his eyes flicker back to ardyn, on a more serious note]

Considering this hypothetical scenario, do you think he also is getting flashes of your life? [a pause, because he doesn't feel comfortable saying more... but, the general growing closer to the other over the past several weeks push him onwards] He must think it's nice. Interesting in its own right.

[prompto doesn't want ardyn to sell himself short?!]

[Meanwhile, Morla moves to the middle of the living room and decides it's as good of a place as any to lie down. Ardyn seems to give a hum of consideration at Prompto's musings.

Interesting in a novel sort of way, maybe. I can at least take comfort in the fact that he's probably just as lost as I am.

[he actually manages to keep himself from doing so, even if his expression tells a different story.]

I can't imagine how terrifying it must be.

[When there's no response, Ardyn almost squints in Prompto's direction.

Instead, one more long drink of his coffee. He's already almost reached the bottom of the mug.]

[It's an uncommon sight, an laugh like that; Ardyn's are usually wry, a little restrained in their openness. But at the same time, he'll give it freely when he deems it necessary. Prompto's enthusiasm about physical changes (a stark contrast to others, who find it confusing and unnerving) is nothing short of funny.

[this is the kind of conversation you should expect from prompto, knowing that he will undoubtedly try to make the situation better by putting the focus on something silly instead]

I mean, there's gotta be a reason why they're like that! Kinda like dogs with large ears to help them with tracking a scent!

I wouldn't know. I'm not an elf, unfortunately. I wonder what Tolkien would have to say on the matter.

[Finished with his coffee now, Ardyn gets up and moves over to where Prompto is, picking up his empty glass.]

Do you need anything else to drink?

Maybe nothing much since he didn't really describe elves in his books...?

[surprise, prompto has actually read them and not just seen the movies. who would have thought.]

[he says, words drifting in volume as ardyn gets up and walks towards him. suddenly, he remembers why he's here at this hour and not back in his apartment. he doesn't remember, however, the details of said nightmare.]

Ah, uh. I'm good, thanks! --is it okay if I nap here for a few hours? I know sane people don't let others randomly crash in their homes.

[A pleasant look of surprise crosses his face. Guess you're not just all about the vidya, Prompto.] You're right... he didn't.

[He has him there, and so he just huffs out a light laugh.]

Good for you that I'm hardly sane. [That's a~~n ironic~~ joke!] Nap as long as you like. I'll be awake for a bit longer, then I'll turn the lights off before I retire, if that's all right with you.

[he reaches over to rub at rufus' tummy, even if the dog does not need to be comforted into relaxing and resting up. it's more for prompto's sake, really.]

[and while he knows that ardyn wouldn't mind, he says it anyway, because prompto feels a little awkward at just having casually pushed himself into someone else's time and space.]

I'll be out by the time the sun's out. [so, before breakfast, is what he means] --uh, so, you won't have to mind me.

So you'll not want breakfast before you leave?

[He had figured he'd at least feed the boy before he left in the morning. That Prompto would be so quick to leave is vaguely surprising.]

[it is surprising because it goes against who prompto is. mostly because he's trying very hard to not just force himself unto others, especially not unto people whom he's very close to re-evaluating into familial terms.]

[the last thing he wants to do is have ardyn get sick and tired of him, much like his father must have been]

...I'm already imposing too much, y'know...

Don't be ridiculous. If you were imposing, I would let you know.

[Ardyn was never the type to let such things go unsaid in his own way, after all. And since he refuses to let Prompto argue the point any longer, he turns away to head to the kitchen area to put the cup and mug in the sink for now.]
