[ He breathes out a laugh, the tip of his tail twitching with amusement against the sheets. That's all the movement he has in him, it seems, aside from his continued tracking of Ardyn as he stands.

No, he supposes Ardyn wouldn't really be the type to stick around after the fact, would he? ]

You haven't heard me say otherwise, have you?

[Pants finished with, his hands move up to button his shirt closed, fingers working lazily. He turns to face his friend, appreciating the sight of his naked body sprawled across the bed. Even satisfied as he is, Ardyn can still enjoy the view.]

No, I haven't. And so our arrangement still stands.

[He hums lightly with consideration.]

And I suppose this is the part where I utter some semblance of a 'thank you'.

[ They're both enjoying their respective views, then, since X'rhun has kept his eyes on Ardyn as he goes about the business of redressing. A shame they never got as far as getting him out of all that, he thinks, but there will be more chances. ]

Beg pardon?

[ He could have sworn he just heard Ardyn say "thank you". ]

[Or at least something very related to a thank you.

He picks up his waistcoat, slipping that on with relative ease. In the interim, he arches his brow at his friend. ]

I spoke clearly enough.

[Come now, as if he's going to say it more than necessary.]

I suppose you did.

[ He twitches his ears, as if to confirm he heard him after all. ]

You're welcome, then. Though, it's not as if this arrangement is bereft of benefits for the the both of us.

[Next, having located his boots, Ardyn settles back down on the side of the bed, so that he might put them back on. He spares X'rhun a sideways look in the meantime.]

What, being able to indulge in the carnal pleasures of the body? Yes, generally speaking, both parties do derive some modicum of pleasure from such a thing.

[One boot on, one more to go.]

Though most friends would not go so far to keep the other satisfied. If I doubted calling you a friend before, I certainly cannot do so now.

[ What a very clinical way to put it. It’s enough to have X’rhun rolling his eyes.

Apparently, he’s lounged long enough to find the will to move, hauling himself up to a sit. Already, he can tell he’s going to be sore. Ardyn really did a number on him. ]

Oh, is that all it took? One tumble in the sheets and you’re ready to acknowledge my friendship. Had I known that was the case, I’d have acted much sooner.

[Sorry, X’rhun, he apparently had a lot of pent-up frustration. Maybe next time he won’t be so rough.

With his boots properly on his feet, Ardyn leans back, palms pressed into the wrinkled sheets, giving X’rhun the most lopsided sort of smile as he turns his words around on him.]

I hope that’s not how you make friends with everyone.

[ Thank the gods for Vercure, honestly.

He can’t help but laugh at that remark, grinning widely. ]

Gods no! Most people know how to make friends the normal way.

[He just has to reflect the laugh back in return, clearly amused.]

I see. I suppose that's good to know.

[He hefts himself back to his feet, this time crossing over to find his coat. It's shrugged on with ease, and his scarf follows.]

And I'm relatively proud to not have qualified as 'normal'.

[ X’rhun is starting to feel a bit underdressed here, but he’s content not even thinking about the effort it will take him to gather his things and get dressed. As it is, he just scoots to the end of the mattress and remains sitting there, one leg tucked beneath him with the other dangling off the bed. ]

I’m sure you are. Rest assured, this is the most unusual friendship of which I have ever been a part.

[He certainly won't complain if X'rhun's in no hurry to get dressed. It just means he gets to enjoy the view a little longer, though it won't stop Ardyn from slipping on what's left of his own attire, until he's fully clothed once more.]

How flattering.

[He straightens the scarf around his neck.]

Well, unless you've a reason for me to linger, I suppose I should be off for now.

Not one for basking in the afterglow, are you?

[ It’s said teasingly, tail waving behind him with his own amusement. This deal most certainly did not include cuddling after the fact, and frankly X’rhun can hear a nice, warm bath calling his name after all that. ]

Be sure to say goodbye to Valiant before you poof away.

[ As if he wouldn’t. ]

I'm not much of an afterglow sort of man.

[Which is not untrue, given that no, cuddling definitely was not included in this little arrangement. Touch that is coupled with sentiment and affection is not a thing that Ardyn indulges in.]

But fret not, Valiant will receive at least on pat on the neck before I go.

[This is not untrue either.]
