I bet she forgot to mention it. Cleo is on the job shadow program with the Police, so yeah, I know her. She's got good instincts when she can keep her anger in check.
Somebody on your team was trying to explain what you had run into. Said you had an assurance that the memories we are seeing are real.
I might have been a little short with her, but excuse me for being skeptical.

If it's what I'm thinking, it's less an assurance and more of a mere quote from the good doctor. She had said, "None of these things should be here: they're complete nonsense, even if they were real elsewhere."

Okay. So your partner was putting more stock in that idea than I would. And, I'm guessing more than you are, either. I want more definite proof. I'm not going to just toss away what I've got in this life that easily.

It's like someone I'm teamed up with. It's obvious that he wants this other life that he's seeing to be true. Magic and monsters. It's one giant power fantasy to him.

Obviously Im not taking anything said at face-value. That would be too overeager to believe anything they've told us. And yet you say you want proof, and who is to say that everything we've seen is not a... strong indicator of other worlds existing? Some of these creatures I've seen do not make logical sense. They /do/ seem like something out of a fantasy

She was trying to extend it to everything that we are all remembering. Not just the dragons and giant metal birds. I'm not willing to accept that there are so many other worlds out there where children need to fight. Swords and guns and magic. Dante, Prompto, James, Cleo, Souji and Yu, and more and more.
And then there are people like Baren, who wants to have that kind of power, to make everyone who's ever wronged him pay.
So not yet. Okay. If it's true, then all right. We've got a lot to figure out for ourselves. But I need something more.

Either way, though we may lean towards one answer or the other (i'm honestly starting to think this past lives business might have some weight to it), it would be prudent for none of us to make a final decision just yet.
Answers are slowly coming undone at the edges. this situation is proof of that. We'll find our answers, Togusa. For now, it's best to focus on the matter at hand. My nephew is still missing, and it's difficult for me to think of anything except that.
