And of course I will. You need help with the verbiage, I assume?

[Maybe Togusa's said that he cares about Prompto and him, but it's going to take time before Dante's able to really accept that fact. Hell, he's still having trouble comprehending the fact that Ardyn seems to sometimes, in spite of all the discussions they've had.]
yeah. i might've learned a lot from your class but "how to write a legal document" wasn't exactly in the syllabus

[To Ardyn, saying that Togusa doesn't have a reason to be concerned is doing a disservice to the man.]
That's because you haven't taken a Contract Law class yet. Consider doing so.

it's more the about ME part
[He knows Togusa and how much of a public servant he seems to consier himself. He's a guy that's trying to do the right thing for the right reasons! He's just also wasting his time, just like Ardyn was.]
you're just trying to drag me into the law major now
no subject
[You and your bad life decisions.]
Would that be such a bad thing? You'd do well as one.

[He has no idea what to say to that, honestly. To any of that. There are many reasons? Like what? Ardyn thinks he'd make a good lawyer? How the hell would he make a good lawyer? He doesn't understand it, and yet he can't refute it at the same time because, well... Ardyn hasn't lied to him so far. If anything, Ardyn's been remarkably truthful, even when the truth has been hard to hear. If he's saying this... it's because he probably believes it.
Which means that he does think there are legitimate reasons to be concerned for his sake, and he does think that he'd do well as a lawyer.
Dante really doesn't know how to handle this sort of thing.
And so he falls back into his usual barbed comments instead.]
what are you talking about
the judge would kick me out of the courtroom first

And while he'd never make his student feel obligated to follow a path he's not interested in, he'll at least point out that -- technically -- he thinks Dante would make a good lawyer if he applied himself to such a career path.]
Now, don't take it the wrong way. There are certainly things you can improve upon, such as leashing that tongue of yours in a professional setting.
[But some things only come with age and experience. Dante still has time to learn... that.]
But I call it as I see it. You'd be a fine lawyer if you chose to be.

you really think so...?
[Huh. How strange it is to have someone actually believe in him again.]
maybe i'll think about it then
no subject
Really?
[Well, if he's going to think about it, then...]
If it's something you end up considering, I'd be more than happy to offer suggestions on which classes would be best suited to your interests.

all right, i'll let you know
