But -- he wants Ardyn to know, right? That's what he'd been thinking, a few nights ago. That Ardyn would probably take it well and accept him... right? Don't be scared.

He has to take a few deep breaths before he sends the next text, and once he sends it, he puts his phone face down on his thigh, staring off to one side. ]

I don't think you've met him. Yosuke Hanamura? He's my boyfriend.

[Yu won't have to wait long for a response. His phone either buzzes or lights up just moments later.]

Is that so? Well, congratulations are in order. How long has this been going on? I'm quite excited for you.

[And that is a truly sincere statement. Why on earth would he reject or judge this? If his nephew is happy, then that's all that matters to Ardyn.]

By all means, have him visit if you like. I hope he doesn't mind cats.

As much as he told himself this is what he was expecting, he still sags in relief when the texts that come back are encouraging and positive. Swallowing back sudden tears, Yu finds himself grinning at his phone as he types out a response. ]

Actually, he was at our birthday party. I don't know if you talked to him then, though.

... it's only been a couple days, actually. Since graduation.

Ah, no, I don't think I had the pleasure. It was quite a bustling celebration, the day of your birthday party.

And only a couple of days? The most anxiously exciting part of any new relationship. [He actually chuckles on his end.] Tell me about him.

It was, wasn't it? It was special. [ he says, in his understated way, not sure how to form the words to express just how special it was to him. ]

Yosuke? He's... warm. He has so much energy. He laughs and smiles easily. He complains about school and work, but he's actually one of the hardest workers I've ever met. We share a love of music. He's excitable and bouncy... sometimes he reminds me of a puppy. But he's also the one that I count on when I need to work out a theory about what's going on.

[ He sends that, and then feels incredibly embarrassed that he said so much. Just kind of sums it up with: ]

[Yu... this is so beyond precious? Ardyn would never call it cute in text, but there's no getting around it in his head. He's smiling down at his phone.]

Well, you deserve no one short of amazing, so I'm very glad to hear it. And I can't wait to meet him, whenever it's convenient for the two of you to visit.
