both grell and dr trevelyan said they'd be willing to be on hand to make sure nobody gets seriously hurt

we'll get a hold of some wooden swords so that people who don't have any experience with weapons can try it out with a blunt weapon. if it turns out they DID know how to fight they'll pick it up pretty quickly though if they're anything like me

so i guess hit me with the long answer since you're probably not going to be able to convince me not to do this

In that case, then yes, you should consider having everyone participating in this sign a waiver, but this doesn't necessarily make you invulnerable to legal issues. You're doing this to help those with strange abilities get a handle on their talents, correct? Well, these "talents" are all so different and unpredictable. You don't know how they'll manifest, and therefore you don't know how badly someone /can/ get hurt if something unexpected happens.

Yes, you can write in a catch-all in this waiver, stating that your hands are clean of /any/ kind of injury -- but take into consideration what a serious injury would do to the reputation of all those participating. How quickly they might be unwilling to continue and to place the blame on you, in the worst case scenario.

I won't talk you out of it, but I will tell you to be exceedingly careful. People will always look for loopholes, and with so many variables it wouldn't be difficult to do.
