I've been fortunate enough not to. Why do you ask?
[Stop giving him this sinking feeling, Yu.]

They function the same as they have before, correct? No pain? No other noticeable changes?
no subject
[ but he's still completely freaking out and just isn't really sure how to express it ]
Actually, I think Souji mentioned something like this almost a month ago.
no subject
There's been more than one instance that I know of, concerning the change of eye color. Again, all users of Retrospec.
[But never family, not until now.]
Your brother hasn't experienced the same as you, has he?
no subject
No, he still looks the same. But he once asked me if he'd ever dyed his hair silver or gray, saying he remembered having that hair color.
no subject
[If Souji wakes up with silver hair one day, that'd be the icing on the cake, wouldn't it?]
What color are your eyes now?
no subject
They're silver, too. Or gray.
no subject
I suppose we must take solace in the fact that for now, your eyes are a color which might still not draw too much attention. No neon purple, or bright gold. And yet in the end, the important part is that you remain unharmed, and that your eyes function as normal.
[Which transitions nicely into...]
May I request something from you?
no subject
... I hope I haven't worried you. I'm alright. Just a little unsettled.
Of course. What is it?
no subject
[One might imagine Ardyn speaking these words with an intonation of a joke; that would be accurate, but at the same time, it reveals that yes, of course he's worried, Yu. What sort of uncle would he be if he wasn't?]
I want you to get your eyes looked at by Dr. Sutcliffe; she's a good friend of mine and a fellow Retrospec user. One who is willing to aid those who might be affected by physical changes like yours.
I know that you said you're alright, but my anxieties will lessen once we make this more official. I can provide you with her contact information, if this is something you're willing to do for me.
no subject
To be honest, I'd feel better if a professional could confirm that I'm alright, anyway.
no subject
[Grell's contact info is therefore sent in the next message, for Yu to utilize at his convenience.
which you are more than welcome to handwave too or smth i'm not trying to pile more threads on you]And thank you for letting me know. How are you feeling? Mentally, I mean. It must have been startling.
LAUGHS TBH I ALREADY HIT THE NETWORK POST... AND GRELL'S INBOX.... ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
LMFAO....WELL THEN NVM
I wish there were more reassurances that I could offer you. However, my hands are tied; all I can offer is that, perhaps someday, we may be able to find a way to reverse these changes that none of us asked for.
ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
Given that it seems Retrospec was able to cause these changes in the first place, you think they might be able to roll them back? I wonder.
ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
[You know, to be cool and moody.]
That's what I would like to believe. But this requires actually being able to communicate with them, which thus far remains impossible.
honestly what better way to represent this family
There's obviously someone there. That public proposal made that clearer than ever. So why can't we reach them?
they are precious and dumb
And I assure you it isn't for lack of trying. There have been multiple attempts to contact Retrospec, but all queries bounce back and are posted to the network instead. Even an attempt to physically find an employee appears fruitless so far.
That isn't to say that we should give up, of course. If anything it makes me feel even more stubborn.
no subject
... somehow I wonder if messages to them bouncing onto the network is intentional. Either way, I agree with you. We can't give up trying. All we can do is investigate until we find an answer.
no subject
But maybe that's something I shouldn't be encouraging in you, as an uncle.
[But. Doing it anyway.]
no subject
[ tbh they're on the same page. ]
