Then it seems like it's up to you to decide how you feel about that. Admittedly, breaking someone's nose is often grounds for a shattered friendship. But in the same vein, an act of impulsive violence can just as quickly lead to regret. And one needs to also consider how /you/ acted at the time, as well.

i did egg them on to hit me if they really meant it but idk maybe i'm also at fault in part
but you know how people don't really see the big picture when they see one guy with a bloody nose and the other one clean as a whistle
i wanna avoid that

Thoughtful as always. But I'll not argue the point if that's the route you wish to take. So are you going to try to speak with him, after everything's cooled down? Or leave it as it is?

Martial arts classes aren't necessary. Just more discretion when it comes to finding yourself in questionable situations.

You have a reasonable head on your shoulders. Give yourself a bit more credit.

Any day that's convenient for you will work. If that day's Friday, then that's fine too.
