Dante sighs, but it's not like he doesn't have the time, considering he's walking over to Togusa's at the moment.]

It's a long story, but okay.

There's this girl on the network; she's one of the new ones. I think she thought it was all a game at first. She was talking about becoming a hero and superpowers and rivals... anyway, this guy I know was a pretty big dick to her. He kept trying to convince her nobody cared about her, calling her worthless and getting more and more pissed off when it didn't work. Especially when she decided that meant he was supposed to be her rival.

I still don't know everything that happened next, but yesterday she posted on the network looking for advice on how to hide a black eye. She tried to say she'd run into something, but I've seen enough fights to know someone punched her.

It took a little bit, but I got her to tell me she'd been arguing with someone about whether they were a bad person or not. She tried to call his bluff by daring him to punch her as hard as he could. [Ardyn might be able to hear the shrug in his voice as he says:] He did.

I've known the guy for a while. Trying to talk to him normally doesn't get the point across. So when he admitted to it, I had to resort to tougher tactics to try and get it through his thick skull that he's a dumbass.

[He listens until the end, and finds himself wanting to both pat Dante on the back and lecture him at the same time. It's hard to decide which side he should fall on, from a strictly Responsible Adult side of things.]

And I'm sure that a person like that is deserving of all of it. However... did you not think of what the consequences of these actions might be? Other than just injuring your arm further?

That. Or if you had accidentally let him drop, and made matters worse. Or if his wrath will be more focused on you from now on. Or he takes his frustration and humiliation out on someone completely unrelated and innocent.

I would've gone with him before I let him drop. I could've kept us both from getting hurt.

Besides. I'm not afraid of him. If his "wrath" is focused on me from now on, it'll keep him too busy to go after anyone else. I can handle him.

Ayano said herself she wasn't going to go near him any more, and the most he might do to someone else is yell at them. When it comes to Malik, his bark is worse than his bite.

You say that, but his bark was still strong enough to have punched a young girl.

People who have issues with anger... they can be unpredictable. I want you to be careful, knowing that. And to perhaps not act in a way that can have someone file a lawsuit against you in the future.

Yeah, but only because she told him to. Most people aren't going to give him that opening.

Most people would not have punched her regardless, even if given that opening.

[He has the distinct feeling that Dante needs to take this just a tad bit more seriously.]

Isn't that reassuring. Refrain from making idiotic choices, too, because that runs parallel with being careful just as much. One affects the other.
