Yeah, I guess I'm lucky I got it without any of the pain attached to it.
A tattoo this big would have taken months to finish.
I originally only had the outline.
I guess past-me had to save up his money before he could afford to have it finished.

Yeah, it was.
Tattoos like these are supposed to be a reflection of who you are and what you believe in.
It's... do you know about the yakuza?
They also represent your commitment to the family.

You were yakuza?

(Admittedly all I know about the yakuza is how they're portrayed in TV and film. I have a feeling that's not quite the full scope.)

Yes, I used to be.
It's a little more intense than what they show in the movies.
But the tattoos are a big part of it.
It's a rank and power thing.
Some people get their whole bodies covered in tattoos.

You said it's a reflection of rank and power, and of who you are and what you believe in. So what does your tattoo say about your other self, do you know?

I think it means I have the strength to rise to the top.
Or overcome anything that comes my way.
I'm not 100% sure though.
But dragons are known for their strength.
They used to call me the Dragon of Dojima, so it was a big part of my reputation.

Then that makes sense, given the strength you possess now. And if that's a reputation that you lived up to, I imagine you must've been very intimidating.

Do you remember anything else about this past life of yours?

Yeah, I think that's probably true.

I've remembered a lot of stuff, actually.
It was a dangerous life, but it was a big part of my old life.

Perpetually living in danger, you mean? Not many would have the constitution for that.

Right. The most of what I've remembered has been from when I was in the yakuza.
It seems like I must have gotten used to all the danger after a while.
I've had guys come at me on motorcycles and seen some people die.
It makes me glad that's not my life anymore.
