[Talk about cold feet. Fynn almost backs out from this conversation even though he initiated it. This is a difficult subject, one he's not entirely comfortable with but Fynn figures this is as good of time as any.

So, I've been wondering...what do you remember as of recently? I mean you've clearly gained some sort of strange ability--no, correction. Abilities.

So, what do you remember?

[A pause.]

Where to start? There have been several, Fynn, and not all of them worthy enough to burden you with. Three alone, from last month. Do you wish to know about any memories concerning these new abilities of mine?

[This question might be seemingly coming out of nowhere but thanks to last month and what Togusa given him, Fynn finally seems willing to tackle this topic.]

Sure, I guess. I know your healing ability is...something out of this world. I never thought people could do something like that.

Just what do you remember?

[Well, then, they might be here for a while. Still, Ardyn will share with him if he wants to know, as he has no real reason to deny him, other than not wanting to worry him.]

Regarding my healing, it was something the /other/ me was able to do as well, yes. He traveled, taking others' sicknesses into his own body, all for the sake of helping them. Awful thing that it was, an ailment that rendered them into something inhuman.

[He leaves it at that, because he's sure this is where the questions roll in.]

[Believe it or not, not telling him worried Fynn more. Nevertheless, he takes a moment to comprehend all this. He's secretly trying to match this up with his memories.]

...So, you're other self really was a traveling healer? Like some sort of savior? I wonder where you got your powers from. You've must've been...blessed by some sort of deity.

Hell, maybe you was blessed by Eden herself.

Given that gods did exist in that world, it's a possibility. But the details of who I was, really, still escape me.

I don't recall one named Eden, however. Fynn, do you remember something that I don't?

Maybe it's for the best you're still in the dark about all that. Trust me, I'm not really digging who this "Rygdea" guy was. He's no fun from what I've gathered.

Possibly, maybe? Eden is a fal'Cie from Cocoon, that floating continent I told you about. I don't know too much about her but she looks like a mechanical woman dressed in all white.

Last name, apparently. The first remains the same oddly enough.

["Fynn Rygdea", odd name. He doesn't remember others calling him by his given name often. Probably has something to do with his rank in that fantasy military. Being in the Cavalry was nothing like being a cop. Everything was so strict.]

From the gist of it, a fal'Cie is something like a "god" but I hesitate to call them that.

I don't know why but I really don't like them.

I see. I suppose we weren't really related in our past lives, then. I remember my surname as well; or rather, the /other/ Ardyn's surname.

Maybe they were unpleasant? I don't think I held a particular fondness for the gods of Eos, either.

If you don't mind me asking, what was it? the last name, I mean.

I'm starting to think the "other me" was the only child. Kind of lonely, no? I can't even picture it. I would've hated growing up like that.

[There's still so much he doesn't know about his "other self" but he does get the sense that this other Fynn was a lonely man.]

They weren't unpleasant in the sense that they were attempting to harm us but more like...they coddled us. My memories are still fuzzy but Cocoon was a paradise created by the fal'Cie. There's more than one of them, thousands even.

Lucis Caelum. Ardyn Lucis Caelum. Quite the mouthful, isn't it? The strange thing is that it's shared with another young man here.

Perhaps, but the important thing now is that you /do/ have siblings. And more importantly, the one that matters -- me.

[An attempt at levity, but also true. Because, gross, their older brother and sister.]

Wait, you share this surname with someone else? Who? It almost sounds too fictitious to be real.

[He's not even lying about that. Fynn was a very energetic child and the source of many migraines.]

Painfully oblivious. We might as well had been cattle. Life on Cocoon was different than here in Recolle.

I know. Over-the-top even for me, hm? As for the other person, a young man named Noctis. He's a student in one of my classes, and a good friend of Prompto's.

And all that changed? Or do you know?

Noctis? [Too bad Ardyn can't see him roll his eyes.] Geez! Talk about pretentious. That is the most pretentious name I've heard yet and I thought "Prompto" was a snootie name.

[Probably less "snootie" and more "silly" to be honest.]

I think so. Something bad happened but I can't remember what. Maybe Cocoon it fell.

You can hardly blame anyone for being named what they are. I can't judge, after all, if my last name used to be "Lucis Caelum".
