[Ardyn listens in silence as Noctis speaks. His mind latches onto every word, letting it sink in, turning it over in his head again and again, seeing if anything will trigger.

No memory flashes before him, not just yet. Water, a giant sea snake. And-- the idea of him being the one to have stabbed this girl. His frown deepens at that, though it's telling the way he doesn't seem to show a more poignant reaction than that.

(Would he have done that? He assesses the state of himself, in his memories. If he asks himself, would he have injured a girl in such a way, the answer comes quickly. Was it advantageous for him to do so? Then yes.

He would have.)
